Dean kicked his boots up on the coffee table, the dull ache from the bruise on his face still nagging at him. Noah slid him a drink, an amused glint in his eye as he settled into the chair across from him.
"You sure you wanna drink with that thing on your face?" Noah raised an eyebrow, a smirk tugging at his lips. "Klea’s gonna think I’m beating you up next time she sees you."
Dean gave him a flat look, rolling his eyes before taking a swig of the drink. “Oh, I’m sure she’ll love it,” he said, voice dripping with sarcasm. “I swear to god, the nutjob suddenly punched me in the face the moment I mentioned Klea to Jason.” He shook his head, as if trying to shake the memory loose.
Noah burst out laughing, a loud, genuine laugh that made Dean cringe. “Yeah, but man, you’ve got a real lucky streak, huh? Caleb being the guy Klea's with now?” Noah wiped a tear from his eye, clearly getting a kick out of it. “What are the odds?”
Dean groaned, tossing his head back. “Don’t laugh that much, alright? The other crazy person I had to deal with was because of you,” he grumbled, eyes narrowing as he remembered how it all started. “I had to go through Lili’s mess just to save YOUR ass.”
Even though that had ended much more fun than he thought it would— but he didn’t have to know the details. Noah wiped his mouth, still chuckling. “I know, I know. It’s my bad,” he said, raising his hands in mock surrender. “But I can’t help it. You’re in the middle of a goddamn circus with all these people.”
Dean leaned back, exhaling sharply as he scrolled through the last messages between him and Klea. The words felt like a lifetime ago now.
