Rio!
Rio was a sensory overload, unlike any city Kenna had experienced before. It was a vibrant tapestry of sights, sounds, smells, and feelings that engulfed her from the moment the plane landed. The streets were alive with a kaleidoscope of colors, from the vibrant costumes of dancers shaking their hips and showing off their moves to the graffiti-covered walls that told stories of the city’s rich history.
The sounds of Rio came off as her own symphony, a constant cacophony that seemed to emanate from every corner of each street. Rhythmic beats of samba music played over distorted speakers, merged with the laughter and chatter of locals and tourists alike, and there were many for The Big Bang. Even the honking of car horns and the revving of motorcycles became part of the unique melody.
What hit Kenna the most was the smell of Rio, a heady mix of exotic aromas that wafted through the streets on the back of the salty Atlantic breezes. What smelled of strong, bitter coffee tinged with an underlying sweetness of tropical fruits, all dominated by the smoky aroma of grilled meat which enticed the hungry passerby, and even made Kenna’s stomach rumble. All in all, a sensory feast for each and every sense.
Kenna stepped out of the cab as she finally arrived at the large stadium, filled to the gills with eager fans. Which had her infected with such energy. She lit a cigarette, and after a long draw, a cloud of blue-gray smoke lingered around her for a moment. “I can’t wait until I can play here one day.”
