I always knew what I wanted. So concerned about myself, trusting myself -somewhat. Being aware of the dangers of the world, thrown into chaos since day one. Maybe not even safe most of the time, I learned more and more to count on myself, which only fueled my wish to follow my instincts, to be stubborn, to take no shit from absolutely anyone. Yes, I put my judgment and my thoughts first, and that’s how I got lost in my own mind...
But what does this entail for my relationship with the rest of the world? With other people who, rightfully, try to maximize themselves? With others’ thoughts? I’d say it made me so… ambivalent. It’s either addictive to me, or I have absolutely no tolerance for it. Always fight or flight mode. My mind constantly looking for danger, making everything so much more complicated than it has to be.
And then I met him. He put my mind right at ease. No need for calculations, ever. How could I trust him so easily? Maybe because his mind was also very, very dark. Or maybe he also sensed danger everywhere, but he tackled his problems head-on. No endless thinking. Just plan and execute. And I admired it so dearly...
