Leon's body throbbed, his muscles still tense from the grueling training that had ended just minutes ago. He slumped down on the cold floor of the practice room, his heavy breathing mixing with the music that was still vibrating in his mind.
The mirror in front of him reflected his face, damp hair and lost gaze. Exhaustion enveloped him like a thick fog, but it was a kind of exhaustion he relished -- a reminder that he was one step closer to the stage, one step closer to the moment when all the hours he had sacrificed would finally be worth it.
But sometimes, that thought wasn't enough.
Leon squeezed his eyes shut, the overwhelming expectation of the industry was almost making him give up; of the company, of the fans who waited for a new idol to look up to. There were days when he felt like he could explode at any moment, that the person in the mirror was just an illusion, a puppet being molded to entertain. He couldn't afford to fail. Not after everything.
Taking a deep breath, Leon sat up, wiping the towel across his face before leaning his head against the mirror. The glass felt cold against his skin. This was what he had fought for.
Even though it felt like his life was falling apart, like everything was on the verge of collapse, he clung to the only thing that made sense: that uncertain future that awaited him. The stage, the lights, the music. As long as he had that, he could hold on. As long as he could dance, as long as he could sing, as long as he could feel the rhythm pulsing inside him, he woudn't give up.
