The Moment I Knew

Some people search their whole lives for certainty. For the kind of love that comes with guarantees, with carefully laid plans, with a roadmap leading straight to forever. I never thought I’d be one of them. I never thought I’d crave something so sure, so undeniable—until him.

Because I was never the girl who believed in fate. I believed in choices, in instinct, in taking life as it comes and running with it. I believed in fleeting moments, in laughter that fades with the morning light, in the kind of stories you tell years later with a knowing smile. But then there was him. And suddenly, nothing felt fleeting anymore.

It wasn’t supposed to be like this. It wasn’t supposed to be that easy. A question that should have made me hesitate. A risk that should have felt reckless. But it didn’t. Because when he asked me—without a script, without a plan, without anything but the sheer force of what we were—I already knew my answer.

Yes.

Not because it made sense. Not because it was safe. But because for the first time in my life, I wasn’t chasing the thrill of the unknown. I was standing still, looking at someone who felt like both a beginning and a destination all at once.
