A Journey | First Stop

The first stop of the journey finds Bruna in the middle of nowhere. Or, rather, in the middle of everything. Perhaps, as if her four-wheeled companion had sensed Bruna's soul's need to fill itself with nature's beauty, the motor of that old clunker she thought was fixed suddenly stopped. Bruna didn’t mind. She never did, as she believed Destiny worked through her truck.

The girl steps out of her vehicle and becomes completely absorbed by the vast spectacle she sees. The lake, the mountains and their colors, the greenery of the vegetation, the rocks forming a slippery path toward the crystalline reflection of the water. Bruna sits down, amazed.

-How is it that we encapsulate our souls in the boxed-in life of the city? Feeding it with gray, with pavement, with traffic, with fleeting romances, with envy and ambition. It's like starving our hearts and forgetting how to vibrate with the pure breeze inviting us to lose ourselves to find ourselves.

Bruna sees her reflection in the water. For a moment, she feels the urge to stroke her cheek. The next instant, she calls herself "Narcissus". She looks up and understands how small she is compared to the whole canvas of the wild world. Still, like every small rock, every drop of water, every little leaf at the mercy of the wind, she is perfect while connected to the reality we usually forget about.

Sometimes, we just need our truck to break down and see nature to remember that.
